Lambing 2026

I still can’t believe it, but lambing 2026 has already come and gone. For the first three weeks of March, Josh, Ben and I took it in shifts to stay with the flock and lend a hand as and when needed. It’s an incredibly challenging and tiring time for Sheep Farms all over the world, but a hugely satisfying and rewarding time too.

Like the Olympics, lambing is the culmination of over a year of planning, hard work and effort to make sure all the moving parts come together perfectly for that one month, from having the right ewes in the right condition to having the perfect grazing conditions and a caravan stocked with everything we might need given all possible emergencies.

It was a hugely successful lambing season, and we’ve added over 130 beating hearts to our team. Whilst simply saying that is quite daunting, it’s testament to the growing success of the project! That success is in no small part down to Josh and Ben for once again going above and beyond the call of duty to put the care and comfort of these incredible animals ahead of a decent night sleep for weeks!
